Dr Ranjit Hari, Surgical Gastroenterologist from Trivandrum Kerala completed his post-graduation in Surgery from JIPMER institute, Pondicherry, and his super-speciality training in Surgical Gastroenterology from SGPGI, Lucknow, both of which are renowned national institutes and centres of excellence for postgraduate training. He has worked in the Surgical Gastroenterology and liver transplantation department in AIMS, Kochi, and thereafter established the department of Surgical Gastroenterology in JIPMER, where he was instrumental in starting the MCh programme also. He is experienced in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery including laparoscopic surgery for gall stones, hernias, appendicitis, esophageal, gastric, colonic and rectal cancers and diseases of the spleen. He also has vast experience in the surgical management of esophageal cancers. Another key focus area in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, including surgery for chronic pancreatitis, biliary disorders and anatomic and non-anatomic liver resections for benign and malignant conditions.
